Hiking at Idyllwild

There is a certain group of seniors this year that has taken to hiking trips.  Eight of them traveled to Idyllwild this past Saturday for a hike to Suicide Rock.  Luckily, the destination refers to the steep drops all around and not to the group's mood.  On the contrary, this was another great trip -- clean mountain air, perfect temperatures, and long views.  Thanks to Dr. Farke and Mr. Shin for leading the trip, and to Devin for some of the these pictures.

Hiking in Idyllwild

There's nowhere better than Idyllwild for clear, crisp air, mountain scenery, and hopping around on high rocks. A Webb contingent of twelve strong headed out this weekend to play in the snow and leave their workload far below. Thanks to Mr. Nichols for the photos.

Hiking Idyllwild

Six Webbies set out on a peaceful hike through the pines of Idyllwild on Saturday, covering 3.3 miles to Suicide Rock, a spectacular lookout over the valley below. After spending some time rock-hopping and eating lunch in front of Taquitz Peak, the group headed back down the trail. An unexpected rain storm cooled us off and clean us up, as we reached the van soaking wet but smiling.

Tree hugger!

The rain on the way down brought out the color in this manzanita, a tree Marja named the Bleeding Glue tree.

Soaking wet but undeterred. As soon as we got in the van, Terence asked, "When's the next hike?"
